Wonderful tool to assist you on your way Jul 20, 2010 I don't believe this is for sale anymore on Amazon (although you can buy from DietPower directly) however I first discovered this software by looking on Amazon. I'm so happy I did!
I started a "diet" a month before I discovered this and was putting in a lot of exercise and moderately watching what I ate but not getting great results. I had lost a couple pounds but nothing near where I should have been for as much hard work as I was putting into exercise and strength training. I went to the DietPower website and downloaded a two week trial version for free. In those two weeks I lost five pounds simply because I had visibility to the calories I was taking in and what I was burning off through exercise.
The software itself is rather complex but it is very simple to use. Logging foods and exercise is very easy and quick. It even helps you track your water intake based on demands from food and exercise. It helps track the nutrition in what you are eating so you have visibility to how much vitamins you intake and where you might be lacking throughout the day.
This is great software. I would highly encourage anyone, even those maintaining weight, to go grab a trial version of this and try it out. This software has shown me that I can eat well and still achieve results.

Still learning, may revise. May 18, 2010 This program has a tutorial that I recommend people watch. My biggest complaint is that it's hard to find foods in their food dictionary. Other than that, though, it seems to work pretty well. There was a good program a while back called LifeForm that was pretty awesome, but they stopped supporting it. Diet Power could learn from them - it was easier to use. I imagine that with time DP will be easier to use.
2 months later, I deleted this program. Even though it told me that I was doing "well!!" with lots of accolades, according to WeightWatchers, I'd consumed 50% more than I was supposed to. It doesn't work for me at all. Perhaps it might work for someone else.

I've lost 32 lbs from it! Dec 29, 2009 This is a great program. I've lost 32lbs so far. (I've actually created this system where if I go on a negative bank balance I give someone $1.50 per each day I'm in the negative. This has really motivated me to lose weight). At first I wanted to disable the Nutrition Quotient feature but now I've come to really appreciate it. Although the interface could be easier to use, (it seems like it could use an upgrade) overall, it works, and that's the bottom line. Highly recommended! (I should mention that I have tried about three other weight loss software programs/web sites, and none of them worked as well as this one did).

Diet Power WORKS for those who are serious... Mar 17, 2009 If you have reached the point where you are serious, where you have determination and conviction, to follow any diet program... then Diet Power is the very best I have found. I find that when I use it regularly as a powerful guide to keep me on track and focused, it works like nothing else.
The nutrients / vitamins / minerals tracking is wonderful. Talk about help to get on and stay on a WELL BALANCED diet! This part of the program alone is a powerful tool. I find that I get sick less often when I use it and pick those foods where I fall short (as well as cutting those foods where I over-do).
The graphs are great for seeing progress (or lack of it). Overall this is a motivating program to help stay on track IF you use it.
I do not input any exercise, I figure any exercises I am doing is "extra credit" (I go in streaks with activities) and it'll show in my resulting weight loss / health without entering them in the program... but to record my exercise and thus have the program allow me more calories for that day (because I burnt some in the exercise, and if recorded in the program, my daily calorie allowance is increased to reflect those I spent in the exercises.. if that makes sense to you lol), well that has not been productive for me, the last thing I need is to think that I can eat more if I spend a 1/2 hour on the treadmill, I like seeing continual progress and not logging my exercises actually helps me to stay motivated. I don't feel down on those days when I don't exercise. I figure why put myself in a situation where I may feel that I have failed in any given day just because I didn't do it "all". I use the program just for diet and nutrition.
The only part that can take more time than I like, is entering in my own recipes so program will record the nutrient values and portions properly for that recipe. I like to try new foods, so I find myself punching in "recipes" a lot, and those creations I make on the fly as I'm cooking... But I do take the time because if I stay true to the program then I know I'm as healthy as I can be and I feel it. Diet Power is a fantastic tool, but remember, books/dvd's/programs don't lose weight, people lose weight... with determination and conviction you will do well and Diet Power can help you greatly :o) Good Luck!!!

Great program and super easy to use Sep 01, 2008 I love this program! I have also used FitDay which is a very good program, but not as good as Diet Power. Diet Power has the Water Minder and Nutrition Quotient which are great! The Diet Power website also has some great help files, but I didn't need very many because the program is pretty self-explanatory.
I have lost almost 40 pounds in 6 months, but I also plan on using this program after I meet my goal so that I can learn what I need to do to maintain my weight and eat and exercise properly. It only takes about a total of 5 minutes a day to enter your food intake and exercise, so I don't think that is too much to ask for having a healthy weight.
